LONDON : International community must share the tremendous burden on Pak economy due to 4 million Afghan refugees that have spread over entire Pakistani soil said Senator Lt Gen Abdul Qayyum retired Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defence production while speaking at 6th Westminster Workshop on parliamentary Financial Oversight of Aid Effectiveness being held in London under the arrangements of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK from 4th to 7th July. This workshop is being attended by the parliamentary delegations from 33 Commonwealth Countries. Senator Qayyum is leading the Pakistani parliamentary delegation of 4 members. Gen Qayyum also raised the issue of financial assistance for Afghan Refugees with Baroness Verma who is UK under secretary of State for international Development. Senator Qayyum also pointed to unfair conditionality tied with international aid or grant which cripple the masses of 3rd World countries.
